NEW FEDERAL REGISTRY RESOURCE CENTER OPENS

On April 2, 2012 the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry opened a new Federal Registry Resource Center. Everything needed for Federal Registration is available in the new center, including all Quick Guides, instructions and reference materials that pertain to Federal Registration. THE CFPB INHERITS REGULATIONS G & H

The Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act) provides for the licensing and/or registration of mortgage loan originators. On November 29th the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) published a notice and request for information about streamlining the inherited regulations. The “inherited regulations” include 14 existing consumer regulations that the CFPB inherited from other regulatory agencies on July 21, 2011, including, among others, Regulation Z (Truth in Lending) and Regulation X (RESPA).
